The Welcome Party Launches Voter Registration Program in Riverside County, Hires Local On-the-Ground Lead

Riverside County, CAThe Welcome Party, a nonprofit working to engage voters ahead of primary elections, is launching a voter registration program in Riverside County, California.

“To protect democracy, we have to practice democracy, and that means ensuring Americans are registered to vote so they can cast their ballots on election days,” said The Welcome Party co-founder, Lauren Harper.  “While the media focuses on presidential swing states, crucial elections are also happening in Riverside County. We want voters in the county to participate in 2024 elections, and we hope to register new voters to join those who are actively engaged.”

The Welcome Party is announcing Eileen Navarro as Outreach Director to lead voter registration efforts in the county.  Navarro has worked on numerous civic engagement projects in the City of Corona, including advocating for safety measures in the city and bordering communities like Home Gardens and Green River. Navarro also worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee supporting Jay Chen for Congress in the 2022 election cycle.

Riverside County will be home to many important elections in 2024 including a US Senate election, a number of competitive state assembly races, and a likely rematch between Ken Calvert and Will Rollins for California’s 41st Congressional District, which could help determine control of the US House of Representatives.

This Voter Registration program is the latest in a series of efforts by The Welcome Party to get more people involved in the electoral process. Previous efforts include outreach to independent voters in New Hampshire and South Carolina, as well as get-out-the-vote efforts in Ohio.
