Republicans Against Perry Group Launched Amid Chaos in Congress
WelcomePAC brings national model of principled Republican outreach to PA-10 supporting bipartisan coalition to defeat Congressman Scott Perry
Harrisburg, PA — With the federal government crippled by the extreme caucus led by Scott Perry, the national WelcomePAC today launched an effort to harness Republican frustration in PA-10, Republicans Against Perry (RepublicansAgainstPerry.com). Since its 2021 founding, WelcomePAC has invested more than $2m in elevating principled Republicans who oppose extremism in their party and encouraging moderate Democratic outreach.
Republicans Against Perry is being spearheaded by former GOP Congressional nominee and Chief of Staff to the late Senator Arlen Specter, Craig Snyder, who last year ran the highly successful Republicans For Shapiro campaign in the PA Governor’s race, helping Josh Shapiro win a historic bipartisan victory.
“Scott Perry said it is “awesome” that his Republican colleagues are frustrated by his extreme band of do-nothing career politicians”, said Synder. “Perry is just Doug Mastriano with more hair, and once moderate Republicans in PA-10 learn about his extremism they will vote for a moderate alternative like they did last year.”
WelcomePAC elevated current and former Republican elected officials throughout the country last year, and was recognized nationally for its emphasis on swing voters.
WelcomePAC co-founder, Liam Kerr, said “we scoured the country to find the Republican voters most repulsed by their own extreme Congressman. PA-10 voters overwhelmingly supported Josh Shapiro last year, but research shows they are not yet aware of Perry’s extremism. In 2022, national Democrats gave Scott Perry a free pass and we must ensure that voters are informed, especially patriotic Republicans, who share our disgust with the chaos in DC.”
The Republicans Against Perry website includes testimonials from stalwart GOP voters, activists and officials, and calls for others who are like-minded, both 10th Congressional District voters and supporters around the state, to join the effort.
